It depends on your state and insurance. Currently all 50 states allow for some form of direct access, meaning you do not have to get a referral for care if you are not using your insurance. Some insurance companies dictate whether or not you need a referral to have services covered by their policy. Contact the provider or check your insurance benefits for details.
